ceramic matcha vessels

Matcha is a passion of mine, and thus I needed the perfect vessels to make my daily matcha tea in. I started out experimenting with the matcha bowl. the height of the bowl lip, the width of the pour spout, and how much texture to leave in the base of the bowl.

I have come up with a hand thrown look that embraces the potters “throwing lines” on both the inside and the outside of the bowl. I also left a spiral thrown pattern at the base that provides just enough texture for the matcha whisk without the danger of breaking the delicate tines.
