warm & toasty white

This new series of ceramics focuses on showcasing the natural beauty of the toasty brown clay. Using a transparent white glaze to create pattern and texture along the surface. I played with petal forms and loose drips to create movement alont the surface, all while following the form of the vessel.

Pattern is something I use in all of my works, as it seeks to engage the viewer into a repetitive and ever changing landscape. Pattern is one of the techniques humans use as a visual language to describe textures and landscapes.

Pottery is a recent evolution in my work, as I have always previously stayed with the 2D world of drawing, painting and textile design. I started my journey in clay in September of 2024, hoping to mix up my work and hopefully explore various themes in my work through this unique medium.
